interiors:

  • Leather and alcantara specialists
  • Guaranteed main dealer quality
  • Huge colour range
  • Brand new and used cars all catered for

Leather:
All the leather used to manufacture all of our interiors is fully automotive specification. This leather is a higher grade leather than normal upholstery leather, as the wear on a car seat with high bolsters / sides is a lot harder than normal domestic applications.

The leather is tested to the highest standards so it will sustain the top quality finish required.

Alcantara:
Used as a high quality alternative material to leather or in combination with leather. Alcantara is a man made, synthetic suede material, which has been manufactured to be washable and hard wearing unlike natural suede. It is used throughout the automotive, boat and airline industry.

Alcantara has a non-slip character, which makes it very popular in sports and performance cars. It can also feel warmer to the touch than leather, a criticism often levelled at leather.

While Classic Car Services manufacture complete interiors we can also make modifications to existing interiors such as, removing cloth seat centre panels and replacing them with leather or alcantara, retaining the original outer side sections of the seat covers.

Case study: Brand new Vauxhall Vectra SRI.

Brief : “Vauxhall no longer offer a leather option on the Vectra SRI. I’ve had leather before and really like it. I want a non-standard colour but the style to be exactly the same as my previous factory leather interior.”

After much deliberation between the customer and ourselves the colour was chosen, Bourbon red. After the pre delivery inspection by the dealership the car was delivered to ourselves.

First we removed all the seats, door panels and centre armrest from the car and all the covers from the seats.

Then, as it was a new model, all the covers were unpicked so we could use them as patterns to create the new leather covers. Now, using the patterns, all the leather was cut and then machined together, using any of the original plastic fittings to make the finished covers.

Our fitting technicians then took over and all the new covers were fitted to the seats and door panels. The interior was then reassembled in the car and pre-delivery checked and cleaned ready for delivery back to the dealership.

Case Study: Brand new Saab 93 convertible.

Brief : The dealership asked “We have a customer buying a Saab 93 convertible. It is the linear model that has a parchment leather interior. The customer would like the ‘accents’ option of two tone seats which is offered on the vector and aero models but not the linear.”

After a visit to the dealership to match the colour of the dark grey used from the factory, the leather was ordered. As soon as the car arrived at the dealership, after its pre delivery inspection it was delivered to our company headquarters for the work to begin.

All the seats were removed from the car and the covers then removed from the seats.

The centre panels were unpicked from the covers and new panels cut in the dark grey to match the factory originals. The centre panels were then sewn into place.

The complete covers were then fitted back onto the seats and the interior reassembled in the car. The interior was then cleaned and double checked ready for delivery.
